You can fish both in freshwater and at sea. Many of the local lakes are well stocked by predators and carp.

Sea fishing is very magical. Crystal water moves fishing to other dimensions. The fish can be seen up to several tens of meters below the surface. Indescribable fighting of giant fish, where the fish is often stronger than the fisherman and many others belong to sea fishing in this country.

The most caught fish are tuna,  Mahi Mahi, shark, marlin, swordfish, gilt-head bream, mackerel.

Popular fishing methods: trolling, spinning, popping but also fly fishing or live bait fishing.

A fishing license is required here. However, it can be purchased in most tourist centers, ports, fishing shops or online at www.ribarstvo.mps.hr.

The price of a fishing permit for recreational fishing is about 300 kuna for 7 days. It is possible to keep catches up to 5 kg per day (for own consumption only). It is also possible to buy a permit to fish large fish such as tuna, swordfish, marlin from 120 kuna for 1 day.
