Fishing
Season – Second half of August to end of June
Catfish
Catfish are caught on the Ebro all year round. However, the permitted method of fishing is artificial lures (soft lures, wobblers, etc.) and then pellet fishing. Only Spanish pellets are used. The reason is their composition and high oil content, which European pellets only contain in small quantities. We can arrange pellets on site at the most favorable prices. When fishing with pellets, you need to count on a large amount of used bait. Normally, 2 bags are fed per day, and with each shot it is necessary to constantly top up. This method of fishing is very effective, especially with rising water temperature, when pellets containing oils and essences are released and the catfish likes to look for them.
Another and effective fishing is fishing with live bait. But! As for live bait, roach is allowed and leech is tolerated. As part of catfish fishing, live or dead fish are also commonly catched, but this method of fishing is prohibited and is regularly checked by the police on and off the water! Unfortunately, this offense is also fined.
Live fish are fished statically from the shore from a selected location. It is fished on rippers, buoys and underwater floats. If we fish from a boat, we fish with the fireball, vertical or lure method. It’s up to everyone what lures and what kind of fishing they prefer. Each fishing method works differently at a given time of year.
Common pike
We fish for pike all year round. Artificial lures are a permitted method of fishing. (soft lures, wobblers, pilkers, etc.). A prohibited but used method of fishing is fishing for live and dead fish. Again, please note that fishing methods are routinely controlled by the police both on and off the water!
Spinner for artificial lures is a very effective way of fishing. It is usually fished in classic pike fishing spots throughout the year. Various obstacles on the bottom, edges of the riverbed, around stones and rocks. The specific and most popular fishing for spinner is fishing during the pike spawning period (March, April). The reason is that the males guard their nests on gravel benches at shallower depths and attack any intruder in the vicinity of their nest in the form of fry of other fish species. These males have a black color during spawning and are caught not only in beautiful colors but also in amazing sizes. If we gently return the pike back to the water after catching it, it immediately returns to its nest and continues to guard it. By returning these caught fish back to the Ebro, we ensure further population reproduction.
Fishing for live and dead fish. It is fished either classically from the shore and the classical laid down or from boats, mainly using the fireball or vertical method.
Pike on the Ebro are also caught in record sizes, even at the 100 cm mark.
Common carp
The incredible number of carp plying the waters of these Spanish dams attracts fishermen from all over the world to the dams every year. The fish usually reach a length of more than 1 m and a weight of over 20 kg. They catch on classic carp equipment, the basis is to feed the carp – just by feeding at least 10kg per day on one rod, you can get over the magic limit of 20kg. The amount of carp from 6 to 15 kg is such that they will eat practically everything. The most used are the usual Halibut pellets, don’t take them with you, buy them directly on the spot (we will ensure the best price). Boilie is practically ineffective.
Common perch
The common perch is another specific fish of the Ebra. The perch living in the Ebro is no different from the perch from other parts of Europe. But what makes it significantly different is its size. Perch here grows to a size of 50 cm, and fish exceeding this limit have already been caught here!
Perch lives mainly in schools. These flocks are searched by echo sounders near the rocks. They fish mainly in the lower parts of the dam, where clear and deep water goes. It is fished exclusively from boats. Effective fishing methods are vertical spinning or trolling.
A pilker or rubber imitations of fish, crayfish, etc. work perfectly for vertical. Sometimes live baits are also used for vertical, especially roach. They are caught by trolling with wobblers towed behind the boat. Perch is also fished all year round, but there are certain periods when they can be better located and caught, but sometimes there is a period as if they disappeared somewhere. If perch can be found, fishing for them is great fun and large numbers can be caught.
Black perch
This fish is very smart and is found on the Ebro in the lower parts in clear and deep water, similar to the Perch.
Black perch is fished exclusively by spinning on artificial lures.
