Sport fishing

The lake offers fishing for both experienced anglers and beginners. The Getnö Gård resort team assists with fishing boats, equipment, fishing tips and everything else.

The resort is located on a peninsula between other islands. This makes the resort a great location for catching pike, perch, zander and eel.

There is also a lake with wild trout.

Fish species

The three main fish of Lake Åsnen are pike, perch, zander. Another fish is trout, eel, tench, carp.

Fishing methods

Spinning and trolling for fishing of predators. Furthermore, fly fishing for trout fishing. Perch are mostly caught for so-called popping.

Fishing guides

Getnö Gård fishing guides know water like their shoes. They will take you to the hottest places. Can be booked at reception.

Boats and fishing tackle

Getnö Gård has about 20 boats for rent. Boats – plastic and aluminum – are equipped with 4hp / 4-stroke engines or electric motors.

Rent includes depth map and lake map. At the reception you can also add fishing equipment to the best fishing gear in Åsnen and get fishing tips, as well as rent sonar, canoes and bicycles. In our fishing shop you will find fishing tackle and special baits and wobblers adapted to Lake Åsnen.

Food

The resort offers a restaurant, café and farm shop.

Accommodation options

Accommodation is possible in stylish cottages or in your own motorhome / caravan in a beautiful nature camp.

Cottages

The resort offers 12 different holiday cottages and 4 summer cottages with varying degrees of comfort. From 2 beds (12 m²) to 12 beds (200 m²).

The cottages are perfectly located in a secluded area with the possibility of swimming and close to the boat harbor.

Most cottages are fully modern and some have a private sauna. The simpler cottages are like a rustic fishing hut located right on the lake, with a large fireplace and solar lighting. Each of the cottages has a place for barbecue or campfire, and for those who are interested there is a smokehouse for their catch.

Additional Accommodation Information

• The standard stay is Saturday to Saturday. Check-in after 3:00 PM, check-out by 11:00 AM.
• Shorter stays are possible during the low and mid-seasons.
• Electricity is charged separately according to consumption.
• Security deposit and final cleaning fee: S – 800 SEK, M – 1,000 SEK, L – 2,000 SEK, XL – 2,500 SEK.
• Bed linen and towels: 370 SEK per person.
• Dogs in cottages: 45 SEK per day.
• Cottages marked with ** in the price list are pet-free.
• Smoking is prohibited in all cottages.

Boat Rental, Fishing Equipment and Activities – 2027

Activity prices are in SEK and include 25% VAT. The offer is available to guests staying at the Getnö resort.

Boats and Kayaks

• Rowing boat – accommodates up to 3 people, including oars and life jackets: 500 SEK/day or 2,800 SEK/week.
• Motorboat – Yamaha 4 HP four-stroke engine, including life jackets: 900 SEK/day or 4,200 SEK/week. Fuel is not included.
• Electric motorboat – Minn Kota Endura C2 / 30, including life jackets: 700 SEK/day or 3,200 SEK/week.
• Single-person fishing kayak – including life jacket, paddle and seat: 350 SEK.

A deposit is required for selected boats and kayaks, according to the original price list.

Private Boats

• Mooring for your own boat at the visitor jetty: 200 SEK/day or 1,400 SEK/week.
• Important: Two-stroke boat engines are prohibited on Lake Åsnen.

Fishing Permits and Equipment

• Fishing Permit A – valid for the entire Lake Åsnen (155 km²): 150 SEK/day or 500 SEK/week.
• Fishing Permit B – valid for the Kålsjön fishing area (12 ha): 200 SEK/day. The permit includes a rowing boat. Carp and grass carp fishing is permitted only on a catch-and-release basis.
• Fishing equipment rental – rod, tackle box with lures, pliers and landing net: 650 SEK.
• Fish finder rental: 400 SEK/day or 2,500 SEK/week.
• Lake Åsnen map / waterway map: 90 SEK per copy.
• Detailed depth and navigation map of Lake Åsnen: 150 SEK per copy.

Saunas

• Lakeside wood-fired sauna: 700 SEK for a three-hour rental.
• Mobile wood-fired sauna: 1,600 SEK per evening. The sauna can be delivered directly to your cottage or to a pitch at the campsite.

Fishing Permit Prices and Fishing Regulations for Lake Åsnen

All prices are in SEK and include VAT.

• Annual fishing permit: 1,500 SEK
• Monthly fishing permit: 750 SEK
• Weekly fishing permit: 500 SEK
• Daily fishing permit: 150 SEK
• Lake Åsnen depth map: 150 SEK

Minimum and Maximum Catch Sizes

• Zander: 45–70 cm
• Pike: 50–80 cm
• Eel: minimum 70 cm
• Salmon and trout: minimum 40 cm

Fishing Regulations

• Fishing permits are valid for rod fishing only.
• Children under 16 can fish free of charge.
• Permits are personal and valid only for the designated area. Anglers must present their permits to fisheries inspectors upon request.
• When trolling (towing lures behind a motorboat), a maximum of 2 fishing rods per permit is allowed.
• Fishing with live baitfish is prohibited.
• A maximum of 2 fish per permit per day may be kept: pike or zander. All other fish must be released using the catch-and-release method.
• Zander fishing is prohibited throughout May to protect the species during its spawning season.
• Whitefish should not be returned to the lake.
• Respect private jetties and keep a distance of at least 100 metres from them, beaches and other private facilities.
• Damaging or interfering with nets, traps or longlines is prohibited.
• Follow general public access rules and respect private property.
• Landing on islands designated as protected bird areas is prohibited from 1 April to 31 July, or from 1 February to 15 August, depending on the specific area. Always follow the restrictions indicated on the map.
