Overview

Cosmoledo is just a stone’s throw away from the World Heritage Site of Aldabra, often described as the Galapagos of the Indian Ocean.

The atoll’s pristine and untouched ecosystem boasts vast, wadeable sand flats, beautiful islands of different shapes and sizes as well as a wonderful lagoon.

With humans having placed very little pressure on its environment over the years, the encounters you’ll experience are proof of how remote and preserved this magnificent atoll is.

Located 560 nautical miles south-west of Mahé in the Seychelles. A three hour flight from
Mahé to Astove (via Alphonse) connects with a one hour boat transfer to Cosmoledo.
Flights and boat transfers take place on – Mondays & Thursdays.

FLY FISHING AT COSMOLEDO ATOLL

Cosmoledo enjoys the reputation of being an explosive saltwater flats fly fishing experience. It’s here you’ll find enormous white sand flats, lagoon edges and channels, all ruled by the incomparable Giant Trevally.

What has become known as the “GT capital of the world” also boasts impressive numbers of other fish, including big Bonefish, Bluefin Trevally, Bohar Snapper, Barracuda, Milkfish, the finicky Indo-Pacific Permit and a host of triggerfish species.

The sheer numbers and variety of fish species has amazed the fly fishing world, with anglers from across the globe sampling the ultimate fishing playground!

The hard white sand, turtle grass or coral flats of Cosmoledo make for easy wading, thus separating it from many other destinations in the world.
