You can fish directly from the terrace or your private jetty, and a motorboat is also available for fishing trips on the surrounding waters.

The location is another major advantage. The surrounding area offers extensive fishing opportunities and beautiful natural scenery, making this accommodation a great choice for both dedicated fishing trips and family holidays.

Fishing

Fishing is one of the main highlights of this accommodation. You can fish directly from the jetty or the terrace, so there is no need to travel anywhere if you simply want to cast a line for a while.

  • Eel
  • and other fish species

The accommodation also includes a motorboat equipped with a 4 HP petrol engine, which you can use to explore the surrounding waters and reach your favourite fishing spots. No boating licence is required.

Please note: The boat is unavailable during freezing conditions.

If you would like to bring your own boat, this may be possible by prior arrangement with the host.

Anglers must bring their own petrol.

Location

The house is located near the village of Vipperow, approximately 600 metres from the village centre.

Vipperow has a small shop selling basic groceries and fresh bread, as well as a restaurant. Supermarkets are available in Rechlin, just 3 km away.

The surrounding countryside is also ideal for cycling, hiking and boat trips. You can explore the local waterways by boat, including routes towards Nebelsee and other natural waterways in the area.

Lake Müritz

Müritz is one of Germany’s best fishing lakes and a popular destination, particularly for anglers targeting pike, zander, perch and eels. Its vast waters feature numerous shallow areas, reed beds, bays and deeper sections, making it an interesting destination for lure fishing and other fishing techniques.

Covering more than 110 km², the lake offers plenty of space even during the peak season and is well known for its potential to produce large predatory fish.

Ideal for Families Too

This is more than just a fishing accommodation. Thanks to its beautiful waterfront location, private terrace, swimming opportunities by the jetty, sauna and boat trips, it is also an excellent choice for families or groups where not everyone fishes.

Pets are welcome for an additional fee.

This house on the water is a fantastic choice for anglers looking for something truly unique – waking up right above the water, stepping onto your own private jetty in the morning and heading out fishing in your own boat.

  • Tiefsee near Alt Gaarz and Spendiner See: Fishing from the bank and carp fishing from a boat are prohibited.

Trolling and Drifting

When trolling, the standard limit is one rod with one lure per angler. For an additional fee, Fischerei Müritz-Plau offers a permit allowing the use of two additional rods for trolling or drifting.

When trolling, the rod must be placed in a rod holder and must not be used for active casting. Exceptions apply when an additional trolling/drifting permit is held and when fishing from boats with a hull length exceeding 7 m.

When drift fishing from a boat shorter than 7 m, a drift anchor must be used unless an additional permit has been obtained.

Number of Rods and Baits

  • A maximum of 3 rods may normally be used at the same time.
  • Of these, no more than 2 rods may be used with dead baitfish or pieces of fish.
  • Artificial lures and baitfish rigs may have a maximum of 3 hooks.
  • Paternoster rigs and Hegenen rigs may have a maximum of 3 baits.
  • Natural baits may have only one hook point of contact per rod.
  • A landing or baitfish net may be used to catch baitfish instead of one of the three permitted rods.
  • For lures measuring 14 cm or longer, hook barbs must be flattened, or barbless hooks must be used.
  • Baitfish must originate from the water being fished. If a minimum size applies to a particular species, undersized fish may not be used as baitfish.

Night Fishing

Night fishing is permitted from one hour after sunset until one hour before sunrise.

It is permitted only:

  • From an anchored boat,
  • Without using an electric motor,
  • Or from the bank.

Bank Fishing and Boat Fishing

A bank fishing permit allows fishing only from the bank, including:

  • Jetties and piers,
  • Ice fishing,
  • Wading.

A boat and bank fishing permit allows fishing from both boats and the bank. This category also includes belly boats and other floating fishing platforms.

Daily Catch Limits

The following maximum quantities may be kept per fishing day:

  • 15 perch
  • 10 powan/whitefish (large and small combined)
  • 2 fish in total from the following species: pike, zander, eel or carp.

Example: 1 pike + 1 zander = the limit of 2 fish from this group.

Handling Your Catch

  • Undersized fish and fish caught during a closed season must be carefully unhooked and returned to the water immediately.
  • If a fish is no longer capable of surviving, it must be dispatched in accordance with the applicable rules and then returned to the water.
  • Caught fish may be used for personal consumption only.
  • Any commercial use of the catch is prohibited.
  • Transferring fish to other bodies of water is prohibited.
  • Only fish originating from the water being fished may be used as baitfish.

Fishing permits for Müritz can be purchased easily online directly from Müritzfischer. After paying by card, PayPal or bank transfer, the permit is sent immediately by email. Permits can also be purchased in person at Müritzfischer fishing centres, selected fishing tackle shops, tourist information centres and campsites.

Three Things You Need

  • Fischereischein – German fishing licenceIf a Czech angler does not have one, they can purchase a temporary tourist fishing licence (Touristenfischereischein).
    • This can also be purchased online.
  • Fischereiabgabe Mecklenburg-Vorpommern – State fishing feeSince the rule changes introduced in 2025, visiting anglers from abroad must also pay a fishing fee to the federal state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (M-V) of €10 per calendar year.
    • If you purchase a tourist fishing licence, this fee is already included in its price.
  • Angelkarte – Fishing permit for the specific water
    • You need to purchase the appropriate Angelkarte for Müritz.
    • If you want to fish from a boat, you must select the Boots- und Uferangeln option, which covers fishing from both a boat and the bank.
    • The official permits are available from Müritzfischer – Fishing Permits and Prices. After payment by card, PayPal or Sofortüberweisung, the permit is sent immediately by email.

Prices

If you already have a Czech fishing licence:

  • Weekly fishing permit (Angelkarte): €47
  • Mecklenburg-Vorpommern fishing fee: €10 per calendar year
  • Total: €57 per person for one week

If you do not have a fishing licence, you will also need a Touristenfischereischein. The official Waren municipal website lists its price as €24, including the €10 state fishing fee.

For a week of fishing, the total cost for an angler without an existing fishing licence is therefore approximately:

€24 tourist fishing licence + €47 fishing permit = €71 per person.

Included/Excluded

  • motorboat
  • sauna
  • food
  • transport
  • gasoline for the ship
