Sport fishing

The lake offers fishing for both experienced anglers and beginners. The Getnö Gård resort team assists with fishing boats, equipment, fishing tips and everything else.

The resort is located on a peninsula between other islands. This makes the resort a great location for catching pike, perch, zander and eel.

There is also a lake with wild trout.

Fish species

The three main fish of Lake Åsnen are pike, perch, zander. Another fish is trout, eel, tench, carp.

Fishing methods

Spinning and trolling for fishing of predators. Furthermore, fly fishing for trout fishing. Perch are mostly caught for so-called popping.

Fishing guides

Getnö Gård fishing guides know water like their shoes. They will take you to the hottest places. Can be booked at reception.

Boats and fishing tackle

Getnö Gård has about 20 boats for rent. Boats – plastic and aluminum – are equipped with 4hp / 4-stroke engines or electric motors.

Rent includes depth map and lake map. At the reception you can also add fishing equipment to the best fishing gear in Åsnen and get fishing tips, as well as rent sonar, canoes and bicycles. In our fishing shop you will find fishing tackle and special baits and wobblers adapted to Lake Åsnen.

Boarding

The resort offers a restaurant, café and farm shop.

Accommodation options

Accommodation is possible in stylish cottages or in your own motorhome / caravan in a beautiful nature camp.

Cottages

The resort offers 12 different holiday cottages and 4 summer cottages with varying degrees of comfort. From 2 beds (12 m²) to 12 beds (200 m²).

The cottages are perfectly located in a secluded area with the possibility of swimming and close to the boat harbor.

Most cottages are fully modern and some have a private sauna. The simpler cottages are like a rustic fishing hut located right on the lake, with a large fireplace and solar lighting. Each of the cottages has a place for barbecue or campfire, and for those who are interested there is a smokehouse for their catch.

Nature camp ***

The camp is located on the edge of Lake Åsnen. The camp has 150 large places, of which 120 with an electrical connection. Each place has its own fireplace / grill.

The camp offers a complete service with a reception, a farm shop, a country cafe, a pub and a summer bistro. You can also order freshly baked bread for breakfast.

Fishing license rules

Fishing licenses include ONLY fishing with a fishing rod.

Young people under the age of 16 enjoy free fishing.

The fishing license shall be personal and shall apply only to persons authorized to fish, it shall not be transferable and shall be prepared for presentation on request when fishing.

When trolling (towing a motor boat) max. 2 rods per fishing license.

Fishing for live fish (bait) is prohibited.

You can keep 2 fish, zander or pike for one valid license for 1 day.

Fishing is prohibited by Gös throughout the lake throughout May.

Respect the entry ban in bird protection areas between 1 April and 31 July.

Fishing licenses can be purchased from approved fishing license vendors or digitally at i-fiske.se

Travel and transportation

Getnö Gård can be reached by car, train or plane. We can arrange pick-up at Smaland / Växjö Airport, which has several daily connections to international flights, or at Alvesta, Växjö and Älmhult stations. Pick-up can also be done at the ferry camps in Trelleborg, Helsingborg, Karlshamn and Karlskrona.
