Fishing

Fishing around the Nosy Mitsio Archipelago is primarily focused on targeting large saltwater predators using active fishing techniques. The local waters provide exceptional opportunities for experienced anglers as well as those looking to experience the thrill of extreme saltwater fishing for the first time.

During the expedition, the following techniques are mainly used:

• Popping  – One of the most exciting forms of saltwater fishing. Large surface lures are used to attract explosive strikes from powerful predators such as Giant Trevally (GT) and Dogtooth Tuna.
• Jigging – Vertical jigging in deeper water allows anglers to target tuna, groupers, and many other hard-fighting reef predators.
• Trolling – While travelling between fishing spots, trolling is often used to target species such as Wahoo, Sailfish, and Black Marlin.
• Live Bait Fishing – Fishing with live bait is another highly effective technique for targeting the area’s largest predators.

Expedition Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrival in Madagascar

Arrival at Nosy Be Airport, followed by a transfer to Nosy Komba. After check-in at Veronika Resort, you will have time to relax and prepare for the upcoming fishing expedition.

Day 2 – Transfer to Nosy Mitsio

After breakfast, we head north by boat to the Nosy Mitsio Archipelago. The fishing adventure begins during the journey, and upon arrival you will check in to the private fishing camp.

Days 3–6 – Fishing Expedition

Four full days of world-class sport fishing in the best fishing grounds around Nosy Mitsio. You’ll experience exciting popping, jigging, and trolling around coral reefs, steep drop-offs, and offshore waters.

Day 7 – Return to the Resort

Enjoy a final morning fishing session before returning to Nosy Komba for a well-deserved afternoon of relaxation at the resort.

Day 8 – Departure

Transfer back to Nosy Be Airport for your flight home.
